Elle Marie turns one! Green Bay Child Photography

On Wednesday morning I headed over to the Botanical Gardens here in Green Bay to meet Missy, Dave and their gorgeous little girl Elle. Now I photographed Miss and Dave's wedding back in 2008 and I have taken family photos for them as well, but this was the first time I was able to meet and photograph Miss Elle. She turns one in just a few weeks and I was so excited to finally meet her (I follow their family blog and get to see lots of photos via Facebook). She is such a beautiful little girl. Dark wispy hair, big brown eyes, just perfection. And she did really well for her photos. There was a lot for her to look at at the Gardens, but we managed to wrangle her and get some fantastic images!

Missy and Dave, your baby girl is such a sweetie! You guys are aware you are going to have to lock her up in about 15 years, right? Boys are going to be banging down your door! ;) Enjoy the sneak peek!

Emily-Senior photos

For the past 2 weeks my nieces Emily and Abby, who live in South Carolina, have been visiting our family here in Wisconsin. Emily is a senior this coming year and asked if I would do her senior photos while she was up in our neck of the woods. Now Emily wasn't too thrilled about getting her photos taken. We didn't do any outfit changes and she didn't want a ton of photos, but she still did great for her photos. We went out to Devil's River campground in Denmark for her photos and I swear, I could photograph out there ALL day. It is just beautiful!

Emily, I hope you love your photos even though I know they felt like torture:)

The Beaumia Family

Sunday morning I headed up to my old stomping grounds in Oconto Falls and met my friends Dave and Becky for some family photos. The last time I saw these guys they had just become parents for a second time to little Aubrey. Unfortunately Aubrey wasn't a fan of my camera back in January, but now she is six months old and was chock FULL of smiles all morning for me. Seriously. Smiled almost the entire session. It was adorable. And big brother Eli did fabulous as well.

Dave and Becky, it was so great to see and chat with you guys again! Your kiddos are gorgeous and I hope you love the images we captured of your adorable little family!

The Chuckel Family

Saturday afternoon after I finished with Andrea and Jon's wedding, I was able to do a family session with Andrea's cousin Jessica and her family. Jessica and her husband Jesse have twins, Isabella and Everett, who turned three a few weeks back. I hadn't photographed these guys since they were one and they have changed SO much in the past couple years. Oh my are they dolls. So sweet and funny and lovable. I could have taken them home with me I swear!

Jess and Jesse, it was so nice to see you guys again. You have a gorgeous little family and I am so happy you asked me to take your family photos again! Everyone did awesome and I hope you love the images we captured!

Hey all. I am in the midst of doing some major over-hauling to this blog. I can't wait to share the new blog with you all as it is awesome and modern and totally fabulous! Jon and Andrea-man and wife-Green Bay Wedding Photography

A couple of months ago my friend Andrea got a hold of me and asked if I was free on a Saturday in June to photograph her wedding. Thankfully I was and Saturday after my morning shoot at Pamperin, I headed over to the other side of the park where I met them and their families for their very casual, yet fantastic nuptials. This was such a perfect little wedding. Full of smiles, laughter and tears. The ceremony took about 7 minutes and the photos took about 45. pure awesome. I felt myself wishing that all weddings could be that carefree and laid back. There was no anxiety, no worrying about when the flowers would get there or the cake would arrive. It was all about Andrea and Jon. And it was perfection.

Andrea and Jon, thanks so much for asking me to capture your day! It was awesome and so are you guys! That little boy you are expecting is going to be one lucky little man!

The Ondik Family

Saturday morning I headed over to Pamperin Park to meet the Ondik family for some family photos. I had met mom Trisha back in November when she brought kiddos Brady and Isabella over for some Christmas photos and WOW! The kids have changed SO much in the past 7 months...especially little Isabella. They did SO great for their photos, full of smiles and giggles and love for mom and dad. Really, it was a perfect little session.

Tracey, it was nice to finally meet you! And Trish, all your planning was worth it. I hope you love the images we captured of your adorable family!

Asher turns one!-Green Bay Child Photography

This afternoon I headed up to Spruce where I met my friend Suzanne and her four kiddos. Her baby, little Asher, turns one tomorrow and I came up to do his one year photos as well as a few with his older siblings. At first the birthday boy wasn't too fond of my camera and pretty stingy with his smiles. But he warmed up and we ended up with some pretty fantastic shots of the little man. Even a few with all four kids looking at the camera and smiling!

Suzanne, so nice to hang with you and the kiddos for a bit today. As always, they are such good kids and so easy to photograph! Hope you love Asher's sneak peek! Have one for me at the birthday party tomorrow!

Jacob-itty bitty-Green Bay Newborn Photography

Wednesday morning I headed over to Neil and Steph's house to photograph their brand new baby boy, little Jacob. JJ (as they have started calling him), who was born on June 10th, did awesome for his photos. He showed off his big gorgeous eyes for a bit and then fell asleep and even let me put him in a tiny little basket that I had never used yet! He was a perfect model and did nothing to help the aching in my ovaries subside:)

Lucy turns 4!

Monday afternoon I met one of my oldest and dearest friends, Bridget, over at Pamperin Park so I could take her daughter Lucy's four year portraits. Lucy is a super special girl to me. Not only is she my goddaughter, but because I only have boys at home, she is the one I get to go out and buy dresses and dolls and girlie girl things for. She is such a little character...so inquisitive, funny and loving. I just adore her.

Ally-2 years old-Green Bay Child Photography

Monday afternoon I met Mandy and her daughter Ally over at Heritage Hill for Ally's two year portraits. Now I have been photographing Ally since she was a brand new itty bitty baby and I must admit, she is one of my very favorite kiddos to photograph. She has such a fantastic little personality and it always full of smiles and awesome expressions. I just love her. And her parents Mandy and Joe are constantly referring people to me for photos. That really is the best compliment a photographer can receive! Thanks SO much you guys!

Now, if you are having trouble deciding on a location for your upcoming session, I HIGHLY suggest Heritage Hill. We have to pay an entrance fee in addition to the session, but it is SO worth it. There is so much variety and oodles of gorgeous backdrops. I had a field day!

I met this adorable little family last summer when I photographed his one year shots and just LOVE when clients return to me year after year for their kiddos photos! Saturday I had the pleasure of photographing Mike and Amanda's fun-filled wedding day! I met these two last summer when they got engaged and had a blast photographing their engagement photos last September. ( check out the pics!)

They are good looking, sweet and have fabulous friends...pretty much a wedding photographers dream to shoot! It threatened to rain on Saturday, but the rain held off till we were at the reception and we got some awesome photos at a park up in Ledgeview after the reception.

Yesterday afternoon my best friend Kim and her newly expanded family stopped over for a visit...and a photo shoot. Kim had baby number three, little Henry, on June 7th and I was so excited to be able to cuddle him for a bit yesterday afternoon. He was awake for most of his session, but we still got some adorable images. I am especially in love with the shots of him with his big sister Kate and big brother Jeffrey. These 3 are some of my favorite little ones on the planet and I just adored hanging out and loving on them.

Ben and Kim, thanks for letting me smooch and cuddle your kiddos. Baby Henry is precious and makes me want another...but we figured that would happen:) Hope you love his photos!

Parker Louis-itty bitty-Green Bay Newborn Photography

Thursday morning I headed down to Greenleaf to meet Todd, Angie and their son, little Parker Louis. Upon arriving I found out that the night before, at only six days old, Parker had slept through the night! While I was super excited to see refreshed parents, I was worried that Parker would not cooperate for his photos. Typically, a sleeping newborn is best for photos. Well, I was wrong. Parker didn't sleep much, but still did FABULOUS for his first photo session. He needed to be fed just a couple of times, but Todd and Angie had turned the heat up and he was warm and fed and just a happy camper!

Ella-kiddo-Green Bay Child Photography

Tuesday afternoon I met Sara and her daughter Ella over at Pamperin Park for Ella's one year portraits. I had met Sara back at a wedding I photographed in April and ever since chatting with her, I was looking forward to our session. Now Ella is just over a year, so about the same age as my Bobby, and they seem to be going through the same stage right now. The 'I only want Momma' stage. Every time Sara left Ella's side the lip came out and the tears started. However, after using a few of my tried and true distraction techniques and the bubbles Sara brought, we were able to get some absolutely adorable images!

Sara, it was so nice to see you again. Ella is SO precious. Hope you love the images we captured!

Home Sweet Home

Well, we are back from sunny San Diego! Had a fabulous trip with Pauly and Eddie but missed my little Bobby so, SO much! I am currently drowning in emails and Facebook messages but I hope to have them all answered by day's end. Thanks for being so patient with me while I got a little R&R with the fam!

Wyatt is one!-Green Bay Child Photography

This afternoon I headed out to Cecil to and it was a bittersweet trip. On one hand I was happy because I was heading there to photograph little Wyatt's one year portraits. And on the other hand I was so sad because I have gotten used to seeing his smiling face each month for the past seven months! I have been photographing him monthly since he was five months old and I look SO forward to our sessions. I love seeing all the little differences in him each month, both physically and developmentally. To see him start to crawl, walk, form bits of words...it is so awesome. I mean, I see it everyday with my own two boys, but this is different. As an outsider looking in every four or five weeks, it is truly amazing. Plus Wyatt's mom Kelsey and I get along great, so it is sort of like chatting with an old friend while I work.

Kelsey, I am going to miss my monthly dose of Wyatt and Kelsey SO very much. You must call me again to do his photos! Thanks for letting me be a part of his first year! Enjoy the sneak peek!

Aiden-itty bitty-Green Bay Newborn Photography

Monday morning I headed over to Mike and Katie's house to photograph the latest addition to their family. Their son Aiden was only 10 days old at the time of our session and is a beautiful baby. He has perfect skin, that silky soft peach fuzz hair and big, gorgeous eyes. And he did just FABULOUS for his photos. He was awake in the beginning and then after a little coaxing, he fell asleep and we were able to get some absolutely precious sleeping baby pics! A couple of these are my new favorite newborn images!

Mike and Katie, your son is gorgeous. He did so great for his session it almost made me want to go and get pregnant again JUST so I could get some images like these of one of my own kids! :) I hope you love the sneak peek!

Eddie is three..how the heck did that happen?

So, I have been insanely busy the past couple weeks and haven't had time to mention that my first born, my Eddie turned THREE years old on May 20th! We had a BUSY couple of weeks with birthdays in our little household. Almost every single man in my life has a birthday in May. Pauly's is May 8th. Bobby's is May 10th. Eddie's is May 20th. And my brother and dad also have May birthdays! It is insanity!

We had a joint birthday party for both of my babies(yes I still refer to Eddie as a baby...I may be in denial that he is three) a couple of weeks ago, but the day Eddie turned three, both Pauly and I had off work and we had a total Eddie day. We went to Chuck E Cheese, out to lunch at Texas Roadhouse (he got to ride the bull and had everyone sing to him), and then we headed up to see my parents and they took him to supper and we had cake and he had kiddie cocktails with TONS of cherries and he strutted around like he was king. It was perfect.

He is such a good hearted little man. I just adore him. A few things about my Ed:
-He is so into dinosaurs right now. Everyday he struts around claiming he is the T-Rex and we are all the plant eating dinosaurs that he is going to eat:)
-He has such an imagination. The other day we were in the grocery store and we turned the corner into an aisle and he stopped in his tracks and yelled, "Hey mom! There is a little baby brown bear!" Then he proceeded to walk over to a very specific spot on the floor, bend down and picked up the imaginary baby bear so I could pet it. It was hysterical.
-He has a big heart. He hates when others are mad or hurting and randomly tells me he loves me about 57 times a day.
-He has a ridiculous memory and is getting to be such a smart little dude. It's like I can see the wheels turning in that little head, I can just see things clicking and light bulbs going on.

As a mom, it is amazing to see. We always wonder if we are doing everything right, teaching them the right things, disciplining the way we should. Watching him grow into this fabulous little boy really validates to myself that I am doing okay as a Momma. These two boys of mine mean the world to me. They are my everything. Happy 3rd Birthday my Eddie.

Norah Noelle-Green Bay Newborn Photography-itty bitty

Saturday morning I had the pleasure of photographing Miss Norah's newborn session. Now, I have photographed her parents(Brian and Shari's) wedding, Shari's maternity sessions and big brother Liam's newborn photos, so I know their family well and always enjoy our time together. Baby Norah is such a sweetheart, I just LOVED cuddling on her. She did great for her photos too. We were able to get some with her eyes open and a few sleeping baby photos as well!

The Moreau Family

Thursday evening I headed over to De Pere to photograph the Moreau Family. I have known them for a few years now and have had the pleasure of photographing them a few times in the past and I just adore them. They are some of the sweetest, most down to earth people you'd ever like to meet and photographing them is a piece of cake. Little Liam gave me a run for my money, but he is 20 months old, it is to be expected!

Landon-kiddo-Green Bay Child Photography

Monday night I headed over to the Wildlife Sanctuary in Green Bay for some 2 year portraits of little Landon. It was a bright and sunny evening, so finding enough shade to do the photos was a bit challenging, but we managed and got some FABULOUS images of both him alone and with his mom and dad! Now, I am pretty sure Landon couldn't get any cuter if he tried. He is just ADORABLE...and a very typical, active, distracted two year old:) I had so much fun running around after him!

Noa-kiddo-Green Bay Child Photography

Monday morning I had the pleasure of photographing little Noa's 7 month photos. His mom Amy and I grew up and went to school in the same hometown and was referred to me by yet another Oconto Falls graduate! (Keep those referrals coming people, I LOVE it!)

Now, little Noa is an absolute DOLL and did really well with his first outfit, but after that, it was all downhill. After we changed him into outfit number two, we didn't even get one shot where he wasn't sobbing:( I am not sure if his little teeth were hurting him or what, but he was NOT a happy camper. Poor little man. But we got some fabulous shots in his first (and Amy's favorite) outfit...and to tell you the truth, I even like the sad baby photos we got toward the end. I am firm believer that every baby needs at least one 'nice', crying baby photo:)

Ch-Ch-Ch-Ch-Changes....

First off, I want to say thank you to all of my super fabulous clients, blog followers and Facebook fans. The past 4 months since I left the corporate world have been everything I thought they would be and that is because of you! The sessions you book, the referrals you give, I appreciate everyone of them more than you could ever imagine!

Since I quit my full time job in February, I have been doing some major number crunching and brain storming. I needed to find a way to make a decent living only doing photography, but also wanted to keep my services affordable to my clients. I contacted 5 or 6 of my regular clients and asked for their input and after hearing their thoughts, here is what I came up with.
I know a big reason I have so many clients is because I give them the rights to their images. In the past, I would photograph the session and 3 weeks later I would mail out a CD of edited images along with a copyright release to my client and that would be that. They were free to print their photos wherever they chose. However, I always hated the fact that I had no control over the quality of prints that were being made with my images. I have seen reprints of some of my photos that were made at Walgreens, Walmart and other one-hour labs that are just god-awful. They are over-exposed, the color and contrast are way off and, well, they just make my work look sub-par. So, I came up with a solution that would get rid of that problem and allow me to keep photography as my one and only job. From now on I will be requiring my clients to make at least a $75 print purchase with me before they are able to get their session images on a disc with a copyright release.

Here is how it will work. I will photograph the session and do a blog sneak peek as I always do. 2-3 weeks after the session I will put all edited images into a password protected online gallery for viewing and email the link and password to the client. They can decide which images they would like to order and then email their order to me. 2-3 weeks later I will have their order as well as their CD and copyright release ready for pick-up. Make sense? I hope so! Basically it is the same as it has always been, only you are paying an extra $75 for high quality prints that both you and I would be proud to display.

All of the photos you order will be printed at my professional, 100% digital lab. They are printed on a high quality luster paper and protected against scratching and fading with a UV coating. All prints 8x10 or larger are also mounted on art board. Wallets are die-cut (rounded edges) and I can put any verbiage you want in the corner of the wallets. I just had these printed for my boys and they turned out awesome!

I tried to keep the pricing as reasonable as possible. I know some of the large studios in the area charge over $100 for an 8x10 and I just couldn't see doing that. I want my clients to have high quality prints but don't want them to have to pay an arm and a leg for them. Here is what I came up with:

All of these prices as well as my updated session fees are listed on the website. Most session prices stayed the same, but there are a few minor changes!

I also created a referral program for all returning Erika Krause Photography clients. If one of my new clients mentions that they got my name from you, you will get a free 5x7 of any image from your next session! If you refer 2 people, you get either a free 8x10 or two 5x7's. If you refer 3 people, you get either a free 11x14 or three 5x7's! New clients must mention your name when they book the session!

So there you have it. I mentioned a while back there would be big changes with this little business of mine and these changes are a big part of that. Grace, Griffin and Grant-kiddos-Green Bay Child Photography

Sunday morning I met my fabulous clients Jenni and Nick over at Bayshore park for some updated photos of their three kiddos! I used to work with Jenni and while I don't really miss my old job, I do miss chatting with her. It seems like we have very similar personalities and views about parenting and motherhood. I feel like I could gab with her and Nick for hours on end! It was a gorgeous, warm morning and despite baby Grant being sick and not wanting to get his photos taken, we still got some adorable images!

Nick and Jenni, thanks so much for letting me photograph your little ones again! I just adore each one of them, such sweeties! I hope you love the photos we captured!

Payton-three years old-Green Bay Child Photography

Later Saturday morning I headed over to De Pere to photograph my friends Mike and Melissa's daughter Payton's three year portraits. Payton was born 2 days after my Eddie was and I remember Mike and Melissa coming into my hospital room the night after Eddie was born to meet him and to get Melissa checked in so they could meet their baby girl! I can't believe that was three years ago already! I hadn't seen little Payton it about a year, and oh my goodness has she grown! She is such a gorgeous little girl...full of giggles and smiles and, according to her mom and dad, sassiness! Just like the rest of our three year olds:)

Mike and Melissa, it was great to see you guys again! Payton did so well for her photos...you guys call me anytime you need her photos taken. What a perfect little model!

Charlotte-one year old-Green Bay Child Photography

Saturday morning I headed over to little Charlotte's house for her one year photos. I started taking Charlotte's photos just a few weeks after she was born and I feel so honored that her parents, Jake and Jill chose me to photograph her first year. Charlotte was born with a bilateral cleft lip and palate and has come SO very far this past year. She had surgery last fall to correct her lip and tomorrow morning she is having her palate surgery. She is one of the sweetest, most adorable little girls you'll ever lay eyes on and Jake and Jill are absolutely fabulous parents.

Jake and Jill, thank you so much for allowing me to be a part of your lives! Your little angel makes me smile every time I see her! She is such a little love bug! I am praying for you guys and that everything goes well tomorrow! Enjoy the sneak peek!

Wijas kiddos-Green Bay Child Photography

A few weeks back my friend Steph was kind enough to let me hang some canvas prints up at her children's shoe store, Lou's Bootery. Well, after she saw how fabulous canvas prints look, she decided she wanted to print up a bunch of them of her kiddos and hang then at their house. Only problem? We needed to do some updated photos of the kids. So Wednesday afternoon I headed over for a quick session with her kiddos. We only needed about 20 minutes to get some fabulous, casual images of them playing outside. Here are a few of my faves!

Thursday afternoon I met Jason, Keshia, Morgan and Katelyn over at the Wildlife Sanctuary for some engagement/family/kiddo photos. It was a gorgeous sunny afternoon and at first I was a bit worried about how the sun would affect the photos(sun=squinting and shadows), but we ended up finding some lovely little locations out of the sun and get some killer images!

Jason and Keshia, it was nice to finally meet you guys. I could tell from our hour together that we have very similar personalities and I am looking SO forward to shooting your wedding next September! The girls are beautiful and I hope you love the images we captured we captured!

Ty-kiddo-Green Bay Child Photography

Thursday morning Brenda brought her 4 year old all the way from Fond Du Lac for some four year portraits! Brenda is a fellow Oconto Falls-ian and I photographed her wedding in 2005. I was so excited when she contacted me about taking pics of her little guy. Ty was so sweet and so darn cute. He was a typical curious, distracted, adorable four year old and I LOVED it. We even got to go outside for some photos after we finished up indoors. Oh, how I have missed photographing outdoors!

Amelia Rae-itty bitty-Green Bay Newborn Photography

Monday morning I headed over to the west side of Green Bay to meet baby Amelia for the first time. I had photographed her mom and dad's engagement, wedding, belly photos and I was just SO super excited to meet this little one. She is gorgeous, just like her Momma, and itty bitty! She wasn't even 7lbs when she was born! However, Erin informed me that she is a fantastic eater, so I am sure that will change soon! Now little Amelia was not too thrilled with getting her photos taken and we spent most of the three hour session trying to get her to fall asleep, but she finally did and we got some adorable shots!

Erin and Kevin, your baby girl is so precious. Thanks for allowing me to photograph her first portrait session. Erin, I just loved gabbing with you about birth and feeding and all things baby. Josh and Janelle-man and wife-Green Bay Wedding Photography

Saturday afternoon I had the pleasure of photographing the wedding of Janelle and Josh. Not only are they an adorable and fabulous couple, but they are family(Janelle is Pauly's cousin) and that made the wedding even more fun to be a part of! Now Saturday was not an ideal day weather-wise for a wedding, but the wind and rain didn't damper any one's spirits. Janelle looked gorgeous, Josh was full of smiles and their wedding party was a riot. It was just a wonderful day to be a part of.

Wyatt-kiddo-Green Bay Child Photography

Yesterday afternoon I got my monthly dose of Wyatt when he arrived for his 11 month photos. I've been doing his photos monthly now for 6+ months and I just adore him (and his mom Kelsey too). Her and I are alike in a lot of ways and could probably sit and chat for hours on end. I really noticed that from last month to this month, Wyatt went from looking like a baby to looking like a little boy. Which sort of makes me sad...I wish we could keep them little forever! He was SUPER excited for his photos this time around and did a fabulous job!

Kelsey, so nice to see you again...we'll see you in a few weeks for his (gulp) ONE year photos! Ack! How did that happen???!!! Enjoy the sneak peek!

Drew and Lia-kiddos-Green Bay Child Photography

Wednesday morning I had the pleasure of meeting the LeClaire family and taking photos of the kiddos, Drew and Lia. Drew is 3 years old and little Lia is just 6 weeks and both of them did WONDERFULLY for their photos. I could have sat and chatted and played with Drew all day long. Probably comes from having an almost 3 year old at home with me, but I just find them the funniest, most inquisitive little people on the planet. And baby Lia is so gorgeous. She wasn't as happy as Drew was to get her photos taken, but we ended up getting some great shots nonetheless.

My Bobby turns one!

So, one year ago today I was in the hospital staring at my brand new baby boy's gorgeous little face. Until I had children, I never fully understood just how fast time really does fly. I can't believe it's been a year since that perfect little creature entered out lives. We made it through the late LATE nights early on. We made it through the 7 weeks of crying because of tummy issues. We made it through teething. the bumps and bruises. the jealousy issues with Eddie. the first smile. the first giggle. the first cold. We made it through. With flying colors. And I couldn't love my little family any more.

Happy Birthday Baby Bobby. Momma adores you.
